Part time 16 hours per week – £12.60 per hour
Location: Unit 1a, Stanley Street, Castleford

Role Specification
Role Responsibilities

– Workshop Facilitation
• Deliver Practical Lessons: Conduct engaging, hands-on woodworking lessons to teach essential techniques.
• Foster Creativity: Inspire volunteers to explore their creativity and craftsmanship.
• Maintain Safety: Ensure a safe, positive, and inclusive workshop environment for all participants.
• Health and Safety Training: Train volunteers on basic health and safety practices and ensure strict adherence to safety protocols.

– Project Management
• Oversee Projects: Plan, execute, and complete projects effectively.
• Team Coordination: Manage and guide a team to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
• Provide Training: Offer skill-building sessions and mentorship to enhance team members’ knowledge and expertise.
• Manage Resources: Supervise the use and maintenance of tools, materials, and equipment.
• Enforce Safety Regulations: Implement health and safety measures to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Address Challenges: Resolve issues or obstacles that arise during projects promptly and efficiently.

– Volunteer Support and Development
• Initiate Ideas: Suggest creative project ideas to keep volunteers motivated and engaged.
• Volunteer Support: Provide emotional and motivational support to help volunteers stay committed to their recovery journey.
• Progress Tracking: Monitor and document volunteer progress, offering constructive feedback and celebrating achievements.

– Collaboration and Community Engagement
• Collaborate on Projects: Work closely with colleagues to design and produce items for sale.
• Community Engagement: Build relationships with local businesses and organizations to promote crafted items and support the program.
Workshop and Budget Management
• Workshop Maintenance: Ensure the workshop remains clean, organized, and well-maintained.
• Budget Management: Oversee the budget for materials and tools, ensuring cost-effective resource usage.

Relevant Past Experience

– Workshop or Teaching Experience
• Conducting workshops, classes, training sessions or other hands-on crafts.
• Mentoring or coaching individuals to develop technical or creative skills.
• Experience in delivering safety training and enforcing safety regulations in a workshop
• Project and Team Management
• Leading or coordinating projects using the Lazer cutter
• Supervising a team, including assigning tasks, setting deadlines, and ensuring quality control.
• Managing budgets and resources to complete projects within financial and material constraints.

– Woodworking and Craftsmanship
• Hands-on experience in Lazer cutting, or a related craft, with a portfolio of completed projects.
• Designing and creating items for sale, or display, showcasing creativity and craftsmanship.
• Operating and maintaining tools, machinery, and equipment.
Workshop or Facility Maintenance
• Overseeing the maintenance and organisation of a workshop or similar facility.
• Implementing and upholding safety standards to ensure a hazard-free environment.
