We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Boxing Coach to join our team and help our athletes reach their full potential. If you have a strong background in boxing, coaching experience, and the ability to inspire and motivate, we want to hear from you!  

Position Details Hours: 16 hours per week
Wage: National Living Wage

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 Boxing Coach Responsibilities:

The Boxing Coach is responsible for devising strategies to enhance individual and team performances, scheduling regular practice sessions, and ensuring athletes maintain optimal physical health. The ideal candidate should be knowledgeable about boxing, have coaching experience, and possess strong leadership and communication skills. The Boxing Coach will prepare athletes for competitions, manage team logistics, and instil good sportsmanship.

· Design Training Plans: Develop and implement training plans tailored to athletes’ current skill levels and future goals.
· Teach Techniques: Instruct athletes in boxing techniques, strategies, and tactics.
· Physical Training: Conduct fitness training to improve athletes’ strength, speed, agility, and endurance.
· Emotional Support: Provide emotional support and motivation to athletes.
· Lead Sessions: Organise and lead training sessions for individual boxers and groups.
· Performance Assessment: Evaluate athletes’ performances and provide constructive feedback.
· Competition Preparation: Help athletes prepare for competitions and offer guidance during matches.
· Coordinate Care: Collaborate with dietitians and physiotherapists for comprehensive athlete care.

Additional Responsibilities:

· Organise Events: Schedule and manage all sports events, including tournaments, leagues, and matches, ensuring efficient use of facilities and resources.
· Develop Programs: Create and implement sports programs for various age groups and skill levels, promoting inclusivity and participation.
· Manage Equipment: Ensure necessary equipment, uniforms, and supplies are available for training and games.
·  Community Engagement: Foster partnerships with local community groups, colleges, and businesses to build community spirit.
·  Club Growth: Expand the club to cater to a diverse demographic.
·  Facility Preparation: Ensure sports facilities meet safety standards and are ready for use.
·  Promote Health: Enhance mental and physical health through sport and group activities, recognising their therapeutic benefits.
·  Program Evaluation: Collect feedback and analyse the effectiveness of sports programs and events, making necessary adjustments to improve participant satisfaction and engagement.
· Documentation: Collect evidence required for funders and document every session.
·  Risk Management: Conduct risk assessments before every session.
· Weekend Sessions: Establish and grow weekend boxing sessions.

Requirements:

Experience and Education:Proven experience as a Boxing Coach or in a similar coaching role.Relevant certifications in coaching and first aid.
Skills and Abilities:In-depth knowledge of boxing techniques, strategies, and training methods.Strong leadership and team management skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to motivate and inspire athletes.Proficient in conducting physical fitness training.
Physical Requirements:Ability to demonstrate boxing techniques and exercises.High level of physical fitness.
Other Requirements:Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.Valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle.Ability to pass a background check and obtain necessary clearances.First aid and CPR certification.
Desirable Attributes:Experience working with diverse age groups and skill levels.Familiarity with sports program development and event organisation.Strong organisational and time-management skills.Commitment to promoting health and well-being through sports.
